Legacy

Legacy is a noun and adjective, addressing some thing of importance from our past. Jody’s family has been farming and ranching the same land for over 100 years. We’re proud to still be raising cattle, crops and kids five generations strong on the same front steps.

In 2003, two Animal Science majors met on campus at MSU Bozeman. It didn’t take long for a very small town gal from the middle of nowhere north east Montana to convince a young man from the beautiful mountains of Eagle County Colorado, that the prairie grasslands will be their place together, forever… Fast forward several years, it was time to say thanks to the skills learned from our professional jobs and head “home “. Jody’s parents were ready to hand over management of the Fossum homestead. Not long after the move home, we were presented the opportunity to continue another legacy and purchase a well established registered Black Angus herd from a close neighbor and family member. We’re right where we want to be, and often feel like we were intentionally placed here by the grace of God.
